As I am a high school student, becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) can be an excellent starting point in pursuing a career in nursing. CNAs provide basic care to patients in various healthcare settings under the supervision of registered nurses (RNs) or licensed practical nurses (LPNs).

Working as a CNA offers several benefits for aspiring nurses. CNAs gain valuable hands-on experience working directly with patients, which can help them develop essential skills in patient care, communication, and teamwork. It provides an opportunity to gain insight into the healthcare field and understand the dynamics of patient care within different settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, and home healthcare. The experience gained as a CNA can also be beneficial when applying to nursing programs and nursing school. The CNA training programs are often shorter and more flexible compared to nursing programs, making them accessible to individuals who may need to work while pursuing their education.

Overall, working as a CNA can be a rewarding and valuable first step towards a career in nursing, providing a solid foundation of experience and skills that can benefit aspiring nurses throughout their careers. So, I am going to register for the course for my summer break this year. Hope to share more about my CNA journey with you soon!
